"I was genuinely ready, not just done with my lessons"

Kevin learned to ride a motorcycle with us in English. This is what he wrote on Google:

"What really stood out to me was how personalised the driving lessons were. The lessons were tailored specifically to me and my level, making sure I was progressing at the right pace and building real confidence on the motorbike. A special thank you to Johan, who went above and beyond throughout the entire process. Not only did he teach me the skills and give me the confidence I needed to ride safely, but he was always there to provide whatever I needed and never rushed me. He made sure I was genuinely ready before finishing, rather than simply completing the required lessons. […] You can really tell that they care about their students and want you to succeed."

– Kevin Lech, Google review, 5 stars

Student giving a thumbs up after a lesson at Learn to Ride

"Best driving school for both Dutch and especially English speakers. They really care about your progress and prepare you extremely well for the exam. They are very flexible with schedule needs as well, provided you let them know in advance. Mitchell is an amazing instructor to have!"

– Daniel Szegedi, Google review, 5 stars

Three words of Dutch, and he passed

When Hamed had his first lesson with Kim in Zeewolde, he knew three Dutch words: left, right and good. That turned out to be enough to start. Kim explained everything in English, step by step, until he was ready for his exam. He passed.

"Although my Dutch wasn't very good, they taught me very well and showed me all the ins and outs of driving. In my opinion, it's the best driving school."

– Hamed M., Google review

Can I take my exam in English?

According to the CBR, you can take the car theory test in English; for the motorcycle theory test you need an interpreter. cbr.nl

Officially, the practical exam is in Dutch.

  • Car: in practice, many of our English-speaking students take their car exam in English, without an interpreter, because most examiners speak English well. The examiner is allowed to say no, though, so there is no guarantee.

  • Motorcycle: for the motorcycle exam (AVB and AVD), you need an interpreter, also if you speak English. You arrange the interpreter yourself, and you can book one through the CBR. We tell you what is needed and when.

  • Another language? Then you usually need an interpreter.

  • We tell you in advance exactly what to arrange, so you are not surprised on exam day.

Theory exam: you book and take your theory exam yourself at the CBR. We can help you with study materials. We take care of the practical part: your lessons and your practical exam.

How it works

  2. Get honest advice on the package that fits you.

  3. Learn with one fixed instructor, in English, at your own pace.

  4. Take your exam in the area where you practised.
